On the occasion of the International Day of Yoga, a one-hour session was organized by the institute on 21 June 2022 at 10 am in a virtual mode. Dr. R. M. Sundaram, Director, ICAR-IIRR briefed regarding the 2022 theme - Yoga for Humanity and stressed the significance of Yoga in day-to-day life. The invited Yoga teacher, Ms. Deepti Mantri, Founder, YOGASHALA-The path of Transformation, Hyderabad engaged in a Yoga session on Yoga - a boon for a stress-free, healthy workforce. Breathing techniques, eye/neck/ shoulder exercises, and stress-relieving yoga asanas were practiced. The staff members actively participated in the Yoga session. Positive feedback and appreciation were received from all the participants. Dr. Kalyani M Barbadikar, Scientist, Biotechnology coordinated the session. A total of 116 Scientists, Administration, Technical, students and SSS of IIRR participated in the Yoga exercises.
Under the“Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav a National campaign on ‘’Balanced use of fertilizers’’ was organized for farmers (47) of Japala Village,Manchal Mandal of Ranga Reddy District, Telangana. INM for soil health and environmental protection was deliberated upon by Dr. K. Surekha, use of LCC for judicious use of fertilizers by Dr. R. Mahender Kumar, Soil analysis for use of right fertilizers at right time, place and rate Dr. Brajendra, Appropriate Cropping systems for nutrient use efficiency, Dr. S. Arun Kumar, use of bio-control agents Dr. P. Jeyakumar and Digital tools for INM was practically demonstrated by Dr.B.Sailaja. The program was coordinated by Dr. Amtul Waris. The farmers were motivated to follow balanced use of fertilizers to save the precious soil and environment.
