ICAR-IIRR, Hyderabad celebrated World Soil Day with farmers and signed an MoU with KRSHIRASTAA for Commercialization of Soil Testing kit
ICAR-Indian Institute of Rice Research, Hyderabad celebrated World Soil Day 2022 on the 5th of December at the institute campus. The program was attended by farmers and staff of ICRA-IIRR. Dr. K Surekha, Head, Soil Science, welcomed and addressed the gathering. Dr. DVKN Rao, PS, Soil Science briefly introduced the background of World Soil Day celebrations. Mr. Sandeep Kondaji, CEO, and his team demonstrated soil testing using the indigenous machine – KRSHIRASTAA which is an IOT-based device that performs 12 soil test parameters in 30 minutes. Its API-based integration platform sends the soil health card (emoji-based interpretation system) to the beneficiary farmers’ androidbased mobile along with nutrient/fertilizer commendation based on the soil tests. More than 50 soil health cards were prepared by Dr. Brajendra and distributed to the beneficiary farmers by the honorable director, Dr. R M Sundaram, ICAR-IIRR, Hyderabad. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between ICAR-IIRR and Krishitantra for the Joint initiative of Krishiratsaa, Joint Patent filing and other revenue sharing over device sales. Dr. Amtul Waris presented the vote of thanks for the function and extended gratitude to the farmers for gracing the occasion.
